About the role
- The HIDI Group is an employee-owned, multidisciplinary engineering consulting firm with over 150 professionals across Toronto, Ottawa, and Calgary.
- Coordinate and execute commissioning activities for new and existing buildings.
- Conduct site inspections, functional performance testing, and system verification.
Responsibilities
- Manage commissioning projects from planning through project closeout.
- Troubleshoot building systems and provide practical recommendations to optimize performance.
- Work closely with owners, contractors, architects, engineers, and building operators throughout all project phases.
- Support proposal preparation and contribute to developing long-term client relationships.
- Assist in developing and improving commissioning procedures, templates, and reporting tools.
- Minimum 3 years of commissioning experience within the building consulting or engineering industry.
- Working knowledge of applicable building codes, ASHRAE guidelines, and LEED commissioning requirements.

- In this role, you'll help ensure building systems perform as intended-from design through occupancy-while acting as a trusted advisor to our clients throughout the commissioning process.
Requirements
- Perform building condition assessments and infrastructure reviews as required.
- College diploma or university degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Building Sciences, or a related discipline.
- Strong understanding of HVAC, mechanical, and building systems.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and experience managing technical documentation.
