Responsibilities

  • Deliver select safety training courses and coordinate select third‑party training.
  • Lead investigations for personal injuries and preventable motor vehicle incidents
  • identify controls, develop corrective actions, and support the Incident Investigations team for P3+ events.
  • Demonstrate visible safety leadership through regular field visits and operational engagements (e.g., monthly meetings, project support, project orientations/kick‑offs).
  • Support people leaders with early and safe return‑to‑work processes.
  • Lead investigations for personal injuries and preventable motor vehicle incidents; identify controls, develop corrective actions, and support the Incident Investigations team for P3+ events.
  • Advise people leaders on incident severity assessments to support decision‑making within the Drug & Alcohol Testing Process.
  • Demonstrate the ability to work independently, lead change, manage multiple priorities, collaborate effectively and influence without authority

Requirements

  • For candidates who do not possess a university degree, an additional 3 years of experience is required
  • 4 years of Occupational Safety experience within the Oil and Gas sector and/or the construction industry
  • Final candidates for this position may be required to undergo a security screening, including a criminal records check.
  • Collaborate with the GDS Occupational Hygienist to coordinate and assist with conducting Occupational Hygiene testing (e.g., Respirator fit testing, Noise dosimetry, Lead sampling), as required.
  • Support Real Estate Workplace Services (REWS), as required (e.g., fire drills, Fire Warden training).

Skills

  • An excellent written and verbal communicator with strong interpersonal skills to work with all levels within the organization
  • Proficient using computers while showcasing strong adult education, facilitation, and presentation skills
