About the role

  • This position is available to begin in Spring 2026.
  • The social work program (undergraduate) is the only accredited social work program in Western Maryland.
  • It is nationally accredited by the Council on Social Work Education, with approximately 50 students who represent the geographic, racial, and gender diversity of the state of Maryland.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the Social Work program director on assessing and revising program policies, reaffirmation of accreditation, and curriculum revisions.

Nice to have

  • Familiarity with undergraduate social work curriculum and generalist social work practice.
  • Experience in teaching college/university social work courses.
  • Familiarity with establishing and maintaining collaborative partnerships with agencies suitable for undergraduate social work field placements, particularly in Western Maryland.
  • Experience with electronic and online information management systems.
  • Candidates without a doctoral degree will be hired at the rank of Instructor, with the requirement of completing a doctoral degree in Social Work or closely related field prior to the tenure review year.
  • Earned doctorate is required for appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor.
  • More than 4,000 students enroll yearly.
