About the role
- Organizing, cataloging, and tracking histological tissue sections and specimen blocks (OCT and FFPE) from human and mouse experiments, and maintaining the sample inventory and associated metadata.
- Performing histological and immunostaining (H E, immunohistochemistry, immunofluorescence) and capturing images by light and fluorescence microscopy.
- Assisting with laboratory experiments, including tissue sectioning (cryostat and microtome), cell culture, and routine molecular biology assays, and recording and analyzing data.
Skills
- Knowledge of basic laboratory safety practices, including the handling of biological specimens and chemical reagents.
- Skill in maintaining accurate, organized records and sample inventories.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow written and verbal protocols precisely.
- Proficiency with standard computer applications (spreadsheets, databases) for data entry and recordkeeping.
