About the role
- Porch is seeking a Technical Program Manager with strong technical and insurance expertise, combined with strategic leadership abilities, to oversee key Insurance initiatives from planning through deployment.
- The successful candidate will ensure timely and within-budget delivery of programs that involve software products, engineering teams, and business stakeholders.
- This critical role requires adept management of ambiguity, development of actionable plans, stakeholder alignment, evaluation of technical solutions, and effective communication with senior leadership.
Responsibilities
- Develop program roadmaps and align initiatives with business strategy.
- Facilitate communication between engineering, product, design, and other teams. Ensure alignment of objectives, deliverables, technical dependencies,. and timely delivery.
- Anticipate potential obstacles, develop risk management plans, and implement corrective actions to keep programs on track.
- Facilitate regular check-ins and reporting to senior leadership and cross-functional partners.
- Manage and communicate changes in project scope, priorities, and requirements. Ensure teams adapt effectively to evolving business needs.
- Partner with engineering leads to scope technical work, define dependencies, and manage resource allocation.
- Collaborate with underwriting, claims, and support teams to ensure technical solutions meet business needs.
- Monitor KPIs and program metrics. Prepare status reports, dashboards, and post-mortem analyses to drive continuous improvement.
- Implement best practices for documentation, communication, and change management.
- Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage complex programs.
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience in technical program management, with at least four years in insurance.
- Strong understanding of home insurance systems, workflows, and regulatory considerations.
- Experience with Agile methodologies and tools (e.g., JIRA, Confluence).
- Experience with p olicy system migr ations, data migration, s ystem inte gra tions, configuration, and testing in insurance systems.

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field ( Master's preferred).
Compensation
- Pay Range*: $140,000 - $180,000
