About the role

- Blue Waters Insurers, Corp., a member of the Sompo group of companies, has a unique opportunity for a Senior Underwriter in our Environmental Insurance team.
Responsibilities
- Proactively engages and manages producer relationships to grow the portfolio and Sompo's market presence for environmental liability.
- As needed participate and lead local form filings and filing amendments.
Requirements
- Familiarity with required forms and coverages.
- Very strong analytical, oral and written communication skills required.
- Knowledge of relevant laws associated with US/Puerto Rico Environmental underwriting coverages.
- Ability to travel as needed.
- Demonstrates an understanding and ability to effectively engage in the negotiation process.
- Adept at risk selection, exposure evaluation and ability to rate, quote, and sell admitted and non-admitted solutions.
- Ability to meet tight deadlines is essential.
- Ability to interact and communicate with various levels of the organization to cross-sell or address processing requirements.
Skills
- Utilize underwriting standards, practices, and tools to determine accurate classifications, rates, and premium charges.
- Excellent organizational skills.
