About the role

  • The Youth Violence Program Administrator, under the direction of the Intervention Programs Division Manager, oversees the youth violence prevention program to provide services to juveniles who are at-risk, or high-risk, and their families.
  • They will coordinate with multiple community-based organizations, governmental agencies, and law enforcement agencies in these efforts.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, develop, implement, document, and manage strategies, goals, policies, procedures, and performance measures for the youth violence prevention program.
  • Manage the referral process for internal and external stakeholders to make referrals to the Youth Violence Prevention Program.
  • Build and maintain relationships with community members, school administrators, and partnering agencies. Attend various meetings with each group.
  • Serve as the Support & Outreach Working Group Lead for Aurora SAVE, the City's group violence intervention program.
  • Oversee daily operations of and coordinate the Aurora SAVE Support & Outreach Working Group. Provide weekly reports for the Aurora SAVE team on actions and progress.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Sociology, Criminology, Psychology, Social Work, or a directly related field
  • Two years of experience in youth violence prevention and/or intervention.
  • Two years of experience in case management/resource navigation.
  • Two years of experience in the development, implementation, and administration of programs.
  • When a local announcement of emergency or disaster is declared by the city, all City of Aurora employees may be required to work as essential personnel.

Compensation

  • Salary to be commensurate with experience
  • The hiring range for this position is $ 81,800.00 - $ 102,250.00/annually
