Responsibilities

  • Independently own the end-to-end design process, from user flow diagrams to polished designs that are ready for engineering handoff
  • Participate in discovery calls and visits with our users, synthesizing research into key insights that support your decisions
  • Partner with product managers throughout the design process to deliver solutions that bring value to our users and our business
  • Participate in design reviews by sharing your work and providing constructive feedback to other team members
  • Contribute to the design team's culture of collaboration and support
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate design concepts and rationale to diverse audiences
  • Reporting to the Head of Design, this role is perfect for someone who is energized by complex, ambiguous problems in a fast-paced environment and eager to grow with a well-funded, fast-moving startup.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in product design, with a proven track record of delivering successful products from concept to launch
  • Expert proficiency in Figma
  • Strong understanding of UX/UI principles and methodologies, with experience conducting user research and usability testing, and making data-driven decisions
  • Proficiency with AI tools (e.g., Figma Make, Claude Code) to enhance various stages of the design process-synthesis, ideation, and prototyping

Nice to have

  • Familiarity with the commercial trades (HVAC, plumbing, electrical) and/or construction, preferred but not required
  • An understanding of HTML and CSS principles, preferred
  • Familiarity with tools like Dovetail and Jira, preferred

Compensation

  • [124,000.00 CAD
  • 155,000.00 CAD / year] base salary + annual bonus opportunity (Toronto hub)
