Requirements

  • Ability to exert up to 20 lbs. occasionally, 10 lbs. frequently, or negligible amounts constantly, and requires walking/standing to a significant degree
  • Valid Arizona driver's license is required upon hire
  • Must pass a pre-employment background and/or fingerprint investigation as required by statute or policy, including drug and alcohol testing requirements for positions designated as safety-sensitive

Compensation

  • Salary offers are based on the candidate's equivalent experience and internal equity with other employees within the same job classification.
  • This position is eligible for overtime compensation for all hours worked over 40 in the designated workweek.
  • $19.00 - $28.50 hourly
  • About the Position
  • This role performs hands-on clinical duties, including patient intake, registration, phlebotomy, specimen collection and preparation, point-of-care testing, medication and vaccine administration, insurance verification, payment processing, and clinical documentation.

  • The Medical Assistant Lead serves as a clinical and operational leader supporting the delivery of high-quality patient care in both public health clinics and mobile health settings.
  • When the Mobile Health Unit is not in operation, this role supports Public Health Clinic operations to ensure continuity of care and service delivery.

  • Two years of experience working in the medical field as a Medical Assistant, including venipuncture experience and experience administering vaccines or other injections
  • Experience in the use of electronic medical records
  • MCDPH's mission is to increase the quality of life for our residents by collaborating with the community to develop and implement strategies, programs, and services addressing the emerging and changing needs of public health.
  • Certificate of Completion as a Medical Assistant from an accredited Health Care Training Program
  • High school diploma or GED
  • We Also Value
  • National Certification as a Medical Assistant
  • Administrative experience in a clinical setting with medical providers
  • Lead or supervisory experience
  • Experience managing the workflow in a medical office or mobile health clinic
  • Experience diagnosing and treating STDs or other communicable diseases
  • Experience performing quality assurance activities in a medical setting
  • Experience working with State regulatory and licensing requirements for an Outpatient Treatment Center
