Responsibilities
- Performs cardiopulmonary assessment to evaluate respiratory status.
- Performs physical exams to assess breath sounds, work of breathing, and airway patency.
- Collaborates closely with physicians, nurses, and interdisciplinary team members to optimize patient outcomes and ensure continuity of care.
- Perform blood gas sampling and arterial line insertion.
- Performs tracheostomy tube changes as directed.
- Manage invasive and non-invasive mechanical ventilators and artificial airways.
- Performs blood gas puncture and analysis, pulse oximetry, and bedside pulmonary function testing.
- Comprehensive professional development support, including funding for some courses and certifications
Requirements
- Diploma and/or transcripts must be provided for validation
- Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
- Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
Nice to have
- Bachelor's degree preferred
- Prior experience in critical care preferred.
- Neonatal/pediatric experience preferred when appropriate for site.
Compensation
- A caregiver in this position works evenings from 3:00 p.m. - 11:30 p.m. or 3:00 p.m. - 3:00 a.m. with every other weekend rotation and 3 holidays per year requirements.
