About the role
- As a Senior Security Engineer, you'll serve as a senior technical leader within nuHarbor's Engineering team, responsible for the platforms, architectures, and integrations that power our managed security services.
- This role combines systems engineering, platform optimization, automation, architecture, and client engagement.

Responsibilities
- You'll own the engineering foundation that enables our SOC, Detection Engineering, and Managed Services teams to deliver exceptional outcomes for clients.
- You'll also mentor fellow engineers, drive technical excellence, and help shape the future of nuHarbor's managed services platform ecosystem.
- Design, implement, and maintain the security platforms that underpin nuHarbor's managed service offerings
- Independently identify and drive high-impact engineering initiatives with minimal direction
- Support the implementation and operation of SIEM, EDR, identity, automation, and case management platforms
- Lead the onboarding, normalization, and optimization of security data sources across managed platforms
- Develop automation workflows and integrations that improve operational efficiency and service delivery
- Partner with Security Operations and Detection Engineering teams to improve platform effectiveness and client outcomes
- Lead client-facing technical discussions, architecture reviews, and strategic planning conversations
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of experience in Information Technology, Security Engineering, or a related field OR quivalent practical experience supported by relevant industry certifications
- 5+ years of experience engineering and supporting enterprise security platforms
- 3+ years of hands-on experience administering and engineering Splunk environments, including Splunk Enterprise Security
- Experience onboarding, normalizing, and managing security telemetry across multiple data sources
- Experience working with common security data models and normalization frameworks
- Strong proficiency with Windows and Linux systems
- Strong understanding of cybersecurity operations, security architecture, and risk management
- Strong understanding of networking, infrastructure, and system design principles
- Experience with data visualization tools and analytical problem-solving
- Experience scripting and automating workflows using PowerShell, Bash, Python, or similar languages

- Contribute to operational standards, onboarding processes, and best practices for new and existing technologies
Compensation
- This position has an anticipated base salary range of $130,000-$175,000 annually, plus eligibility for nuHarbor's annual bonus program with a target opportunity of 10%.
- Actual compensation is based on factors including experience, skills, certifications, and geographic location.
