About the role
- OSP Mechanic - Job Description Essel is seeking a skilled and dependable OSP (Outside Plant) Mechanic to join our team.
- The OSP Mechanic will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of outside plant infrastructure, including telecommunications and utility equipment located outdoors.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to mechanical and structural components of outside plant facilities.
Responsibilities
- Install, maintain, and repair outside plant equipment such as cables, poles, conduits, and related hardware.
- Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance to ensure infrastructure integrity and safety.
- Assist with planning and executing fieldwork to support construction and maintenance activities.
- Document work activities, maintain logs, and report issues or needs to supervisors.
Requirements
- Familiarity with outside plant equipment, tools, and safety practices.
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and environments.
- Ability to lift heavy equipment and work at heights as required.
- This role requires a strong understanding of mechanical systems and the ability to work in various outdoor environments, ensuring safe and efficient operations.
Nice to have
- Previous experience as an OSP mechanic or in a similar outside plant or utilities role preferred.
