About the role

  • The Estimator will play a critical role in supporting the development and delivery of accurate cost estimates for PACT projects at Toronto Pearson International Airport.

Responsibilities

  • Develop conceptual, schematic, and detailed cost estimates in alignment with design development stages and project requirements.
  • Collaborate with Design, Commercial, Procurement, and Sub-Program Leads to validate quantities, pricing assumptions, and construction methods.
  • Support the preparation and validation of the Target Price, including benchmarking, unit rates, and market testing.
  • Provide cost support to procurement activities, including subcontractor and vendor pricing analysis.
  • Support the change management process by assessing cost impacts of design and scope changes.
  • PACT (Pearson Accelerator Construction Team) is a General Partnership of Alberici, Amico, Kenaidan, and Obayashi, supported by design partners Egis, Mott MacDonald, and Weston Williamson + Partners.

Requirements

  • The position will be based at our offices in Mississauga, Ontario, with regular visits to the site offices as required.

Skills

  • 5+ years of progressive experience in cost estimating within large-scale infrastructure, aviation, or heavy civil projects.
  • Strong knowledge of estimating methodologies, market pricing, and construction means and methods.
  • Proficiency with estimating software (e.g., OST, CostX, WinEst, or equivalent) and MS Excel.
  • Strong analytical and numerical skills with attention to detail.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of local market conditions and subcontractor/vendor community is an asset.
