About the role

  • Zero Hiring is partnering with an established Electric Vehicle (EV) charging solutions provider to recruit a Field Service Technician for their Mid-Southern California territory.

Responsibilities

  • identify root causes and implement durable fixes to minimize repeat service calls
  • Manage a company service vehicle, including stocking and organizing replacement parts, tools, and consumables needed for scheduled and unscheduled service calls
  • Document all field service activity accurately in the work order and ticketing system, including parts used, labor performed, photos, and resolution notes, to maintain complete service records
  • Coordinate with the Field Service Lead and support team to escalate complex issues, request parts, and ensure timely resolution of open service tickets

  • Typically 2-3 interviews with the hiring organisation, designed to give both parties a thorough and genuine sense of fit.

Requirements

  • must be comfortable driving a service vehicle to multiple sites per day across the region
  • Proficiency with test and diagnostic equipment including multimeters, cable crimpers, and wire strippers
  • working knowledge of both building electrical and low-voltage wiring required
  • Willingness and ability to travel extensively - up to 75% of working time in the field, including occasional overnight travel for sites within or outside of the region
  • No scheduling required - you choose when you do it, and it can be completed within 48 hours of applying.

Nice to have

  • Their EV fueling management software provides control and data analytics for charging station owners.
  • The platform includes mobile apps to locate and pay for charging, and web portals for account management and data analytics.
  • Position Summary
  • This is a road-warrior position
  • 2+ years of hands-on field service, electrical, or electromechanical repair experience preferred
  • Experience with network infrastructure (Wi-Fi routers, cellular modems, switches) for field configuration and connectivity troubleshooting is preferred
