About the role
- This is accomplished in such a way that it adheres to NERC, RFC, MISO policies, and procedures.
- The TSS monitors voltage frequency, power flow, reactive flow, tie-line flow and power equipment status, for internal and external grid security.
- At all times, the TSS is responsible for the restoration of transmission reliability after contingencies related to loss of generation, load, natural disasters and other system emergencies.
Requirements
- Must have previous experience in an electric engineering or electric operations related position
Nice to have
- Must be able to successfully pass and maintain the NERC Reliability Coordinator Certification (internal training will be provided to prepare for the examination)
- Must have the ability to use personal computers, Energy Management System computer and any other associated hardware and software
- Must have good planning, organizational, verbal and written communication skills
- Must understand the operation of power plants and high voltage interconnected power systems and associated equipment.
- Must also have the ability to evaluate system performance and reliability
- Knowledge of electric transmission equipment and system operations
- Ability to study and evaluate transmission system requirements as they apply to system stability
- Strong verbal and written communications utilizing English and strong interpersonal skills
