Responsibilities

  • Partner with Product Managers, Engineers, and Researchers to uncover user needs and design seamless experiences that help readers and writers connect more deeply through storytelling and community.
  • Own the end-to-end design process across web, iOS, and Android - from discovery through design, implementation, and iteration.
  • Grow Wattpad's design culture by mentoring designers, facilitating critiques and workshops, sharing best practices, and helping evolve our design processes.
  • Contribute to and evolve Wattpad's design system by creating scalable, consistent patterns and collaborating with engineers to improve implementation quality.
  • Champion accessible and inclusive design by applying accessibility standards and advocating for experiences that work for a diverse global audience.
  • Leverage AI-powered design tools to improve design quality, accelerate workflows, and uncover new opportunities for product innovation.

  • In this role, you will design experiences that help users find the right stories, enjoy them deeply, and stay in flow longer.
  • You will partner closely with Product Managers, Engineers, and cross-functional teams to shape problems, explore solutions, and deliver experiences that balance user goals, motivations, and business outcomes.
  • This is a role for a designer who enjoys both discovery and execution and who sees design as a way to create clarity, momentum, and value.

Requirements

  • Experience partnering with cross-functional teams to shape product direction and align on priorities
  • Proficiency in Figma and collaborative tools, with experience using AI tools to support design workflows
  • Bachelor's Degree in Design, Interaction Design, HCI, or related discipline
