Responsibilities
- Conduct daily inspections of equipment, including checking fluid levels, tire pressure, and overall condition, and perform basic inspections as needed.
- Maintain clear communication with the Shift Supervisor and other team members to coordinate unloading activities and material flow.
- Maintain accurate records of materials unloaded, transported, and stockpiled.
- Inspect rail equipment for defects or damage and perform routine basic inspection
- Maintain accurate records of railcar movements, materials handled, and equipment inspections.
- Conduct daily inspections of equipment, including checking fluid levels, tire pressure, and overall condition, and perform basic maintenance tasks.
- Maintain clear communication with the Yard Supervisor and other team members to coordinate container handling activities and ensure efficient yard operations.
- Maintenance: Perform daily inspections, lubricate,clean, refuel or recharge, conduct minor repairs, report major issues to supervisors.
Requirements
- Ability to perform pre-shift equipment checks and basic maintenance.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
Nice to have
- 1 year of experience operating heavy equipment preferred
Skills
- Experience operating heavy equipment, such as wheel loaders, in an industrial setting
- Obtain any required certifications for equipment operation (e.g., MSHA).
- Strong knowledge of safety procedures and regulations related to heavy equipment operation, material handling, and railcar unloading.
- Ability to operate equipment safely and efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination, depth perception, and spatial awareness.
- Ability to follow instructions, both written and verbal.
- Basic mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
- Acquire and retain all necessary safety certifications
