About the role
- The Staff Accountant is a key member of the corporate accounting team, supporting the monthly close, financial reporting, and compliance processes in a public company environment.
Responsibilities
- Support timely and accurate completion of the close cycle in accordance with established deadlines
- Prepare and maintain balance sheet account reconciliations with audit-ready supporting documentation
- Perform cash reconciliations using bank and vendor data, and complete payroll-related reconciliations
- Perform variance analysis and provide explanations to support management reporting and financial review processes
- Audit & Financial Reporting Support
- Support compliance with internal controls over financial reporting (SOX), including execution, documentation, and audit support
- This role partners cross-functionally with Financial Planning & Analysis, Accounts Payable, and Collections, and provides exposure to internal controls over financial reporting (SOX) and external audit processes.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including data analysis and reconciliation skills
- High attention to detail and ability to produce accurate, audit-ready work
- A video interview is required for this position.
Nice to have
- 0-2 years of relevant accounting experience (public accounting or corporate accounting preferred)
- CPA or CPA candidate preferred
- Experience with Workday Financial or similar ERP systems preferred
Compensation
- $51,755.35 - $70,000.00 This position is bonus and/or commission eligible.
