About the role

  • Job Title: Engineer – Energy Control Systems
  • Reports to: Supervisor, Energy Control Systems

Responsibilities

  • Defines and maintains SCADA databases and definitions. Maintains telemetry data and evaluates and maintains accurate information in the Electric Management System (EMS)
  • Design enhancements to the Energy Control Systems (ECS) to improve user interfaces
  • Documents commissioning procedures and provides operational assistance and troubleshooting when needed.
  • Monitors and ensures that systems and components are designed, installed, tested operated and maintained according to the operational requirements and standards for safety and reliability
  • Works within the Control Center environment and supports Cyber Security and NERC/CIP requirements for Control Center operations. Maintains and creates documentation for supported platforms and systems to meet all regulatory requirements/ standards.
  • To be an Engineer in supporting and maintaining the Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) system for Electric and Gas operations and ancillary modules/systems and related activities such as design, test and implement new systems & system support.

Requirements

  • Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field OR
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field with 1-2 years' technical experience OR
  • Associate Engineering Degree with 4+ years' technical experience.
  • Must be able to support the specification, design, testing and development of the EMS system to ensure that changing functional requirements are met.
  • Avangrid employees may be assigned a system emergency role and in the event of a system emergency, may be required to work outside of their regular schedule/job duties.

Compensation

  • The salary range for this position is dependent on location and experience level ranging from $100,000 - $109,500
