About the role

  • The Labor Foreman is responsible for overseeing and coordinating the work of labor crews on construction projects to ensure tasks are completed safely, efficiently, and according to project specifications.
  • The Physical Demands of the Job: T his is a physically demanding role on an active construction site.
  • Good balance and dexterity are crucial, as you will be working safely at various heights and in tight spaces.

Requirements

  • Maintain time, production, and other records as required.
  • (minimum requirements as follows):
  • You must be able to work safely around heavy equipment and construction traffic.
  • You must be able to frequently lift, carry, and move materials weighing up to 50 pounds alone, and use team-lifting techniques for anything heavier.
  • Long periods of continual standing or walking are required, along with the ability to bend, climb, kneel, and reach.
  • You'll need visual acuity to operate equipment and spot hazards, and the ability to hear with or without assistance to understand instructions in noisy environments.

Skills

  • Strong knowledge of construction methods, tools, and equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications.
  • Excellent leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Commitment to safety and quality.
  • Lift 50lbs from the ground and pull 50lbs of force.
  • Fully squat, stoop or kneel while wearing a 25lb tool belt.
  • Bending, stretching, twisting, or reaching
  • Seeing clearly up close
  • Identifying and understanding the speech of another person
  • Lifting, pushing, pulling, or carrying objects
  • Using abdominal and lower back muscles repeatedly or over time without tiring
