About the role

  • This role is ideal for a persuasive communicator and strategic thinker who thrives in a collaborative, impact-focused environment.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage a robust portfolio of individual major donors and prospects - including donor-advised funds, family and private foundations, and planned giving prospects - with an emphasis on long-term relationships and gifts of $5,000 and above.
  • Design and execute customized donor engagement strategies, including documented cultivation plans, individual outreach cadences, proposals, site visits, and stewardship reports
  • maintain an active pipeline with real-time relationship status in HubSpot and review monthly pipeline with the Director of Major Gifts.
  • Maintain timely, consistent, and personalized outreach across the full portfolio, adhering to contact frequency by donor tier
  • Partner with Advancement staff on donor visits, events, and strategic solicitations

Nice to have

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in nonprofit management, fundraising, communications, or a related field.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills, including experience drafting donor proposals, stewardship reports, face-to-face solicitations, and grant-related materials.
  • Proficiency in CRM systems (HubSpot preferred), donor pipeline management, and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Comfortable working with executives and high-net-worth individuals with discretion, confidentiality, and professionalism.
  • Experience in animal welfare, environmental, or humanitarian sectors preferred.
  • Ability to travel up to 10-20%

Compensation

  • Meet or exceed annual fundraising goals, with an initial target of $1 million in major gifts in the first year.
