About the role

  • The Business Analyst Senior also provides functional guidance and quality oversight to other Business Analysts on the team, ensuring consistency and accuracy across all requirement deliverables.

Responsibilities

  • A Business Analyst Senior serves as the functional requirements lead within Student Success Innovations (SSI), Office of the University Provost.
  • The Business Analyst Senior will manage requirements traceability throughout the development and configuration lifecycle, and own the user acceptance testing strategy to ensure that product capabilities meet the institutional standards of ASU's academic advising and student success operations.
  • Leads academic advising and other student support staff stakeholder discovery sessions to elicit, document, and validate business and functional requirements for product enhancements, configurations, and integrations, using interviews, workshops, surveys, use cases, process descriptions, and workflow analysis.
  • Owns requirements traceability throughout the product lifecycle, ensuring all functional requirements are documented, prioritized, and mapped to configuration specifications, vendor deliverables, and acceptance criteria.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree and five (5) years of experience appropriate to the area of assignment/field
  • This position complements the expertise of other analysts already assigned to SSI products and focuses specifically on leading stakeholder discovery.
  • Knowledge of products for appointment scheduling, case management, early alert and retention, kiosk management, and reporting and analytics.
  • Knowledge of technical writing, process diagramming, and requirements documentation standards.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide functional oversight and quality guidance to other analysts or project team members.
  • Demonstrated ability to engage academic and student success leadership with clarity, authority, and credibility.
  • Experience implementing or configuring student success CRM products or related technology in an advising or student services context.
  • Experience documenting integration requirements between student success products and SIS, LMS, or CRM systems.
  • Experience with full software development or product configuration lifecycle analysis, including requirements gathering, functional specification writing, and quality assurance.
  • Experience explaining complex product capabilities to a variety of audiences using clear and effective communication.
  • Knowledge of ASU's organizational structure, advising model, and higher education administration.
  • Demonstrated experience leading user acceptance testing strategy and execution for enterprise product implementations or upgrades.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex, high-visibility projects in environments subject to tight deadlines and shifting institutional priorities.

Nice to have

  • CBAP, CCBA, PMI-PBA, or equivalent professional certification preferred.

Compensation

  • $70,000 - $85,000 per year; offer dependent on experience
