About the role
- The Research Services Librarian is a half-time (20 hours per week), regular, exempt staff appointment reporting to the Library Director.
- The position is responsible for coordinating research and reference services, supervising Peer Research Coach student employees, and serving as liaison librarian to assigned academic departments.
- Coordinates Library research and reference services, including research and information desk activities and research assistance provided in person, by phone, and by email.
Responsibilities
- Collaborates with faculty to support student research and information literacy.
- Contributes to developing and maintaining policies, procedures, and best practices for research services.
- Evaluates and implements appropriate emerging technologies that support research services and provides documentation and training for library staff as needed.
- Performs collection development and collection maintenance in assigned subject areas.
Requirements

- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, talk, hear, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer.
- Light to moderate lifting is required.
- ALA-accredited master's degree in library or information science.
- Proven ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
- Ability to work with moderate noise (i.e. office with computers, phone, and printers, light traffic).
- Ability to sit at a computer terminal for an extended period of time.
- Ability to juggle a variety of administrative tasks simultaneously.

Compensation
