About the role
- As directed by a Physician and University Hospital policy, the Ambulatory Care Technician Certified administers intramuscular and subcutaneous injections which may be delegated under State regulations.
- Knowledgeable of and then notifies the provider of abnormal vital signs immediately during the patient visit.
- Provides allergy and other screening as designated by University Hospital policy and regulatory guidelines.
Responsibilities
- Works collaboratively with faculty and staff to maintain a timely and organized flow of patients and visitors throughout their experience in Ambulatory Care Services and with University Hospital.
- Obtains clinical data and performs procedures as requested/directed by the provider: Administers vaccinations and administers subcutaneous, intradermal, and intramuscular injections according to University Hospital Policy.
- Maintains effective working relationship with coworkers; demonstrates teamwork.
- Maintains safe and clean environment; and prepares clinical space and supplies.
Requirements
- Must have attained a satisfactory level of comprehension and experience in the administration of intramuscular and subcutaneous techniques.
- Must be computer proficient.
- Must complete and pass annual review of medication administration, including classroom curriculum, hands on participation and successful passing (80 or higher) of post-test.
Compensation
- Probationary Rate $24.31 - Job Rate $24.81 - Two (2) Year Rate $25.56 per hour.
- The expected salary range for this position is in accordance with the New Jersey Pay Transparency Law; final compensation will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.
