About the role

  • One to three months related experience and/or training or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • The ability to safely and effectively operate machinery; and material handling equipment within orientation period.

Responsibilities

  • Perform Weld Repair on metal components using MIG methods
  • Performs minor maintenance tasks such as tip changes, tool changes, and set-up of equipment.
  • Performs finished goods inspection per control plan and operator instructions
  • Promoted/transferred individuals are expected to maintain a satisfactory level of performance in all areas of evaluation.
  • If, during the 90-day training period, an associate is unable to perform to level expected by the Company or resigns from a position, the associate may not be eligible for reapplying for the same position without demonstrating an improvement of their skill and ability from consideration for that position for one (1) year, and will return to their previously held position; seniority and availability permitting.
  • If they do not have the seniority to hold their previous position, they will be assigned to another available position as needed, provided they can successfully perform the work.

Requirements

  • Experience with MIG Welding
  • The ability to safely operate any and all equipment as necessary
  • Ability to read, write and speak English
  • The actual length of training is dependent upon the position/job assigned and the individuals' ability to learn and perform the required duties.
  • Enter accurate information into inventory system using bar coding scanners as required
  • The ability to pass post examinations for position required training.

Nice to have

  • Holds an AWS Certification is a plus.
  • Two (2) years related experience in an automotive manufacturing or similar manufacturing environment is a plus

Skills

  • The ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
