About the role

  • In this role, you will oversee day-to-day accounting operations, financial reporting activities, the integrity of inventory accounting and valuation, and the development and performance of the accounting team.

  • The successful candidate will work closely with Finance, Operations, and cross-functional stakeholders to optimize financial processes and improve operational efficiency.
  • Deliver financial analysis and variance explanations to executive leadership and operational teams to support informed decision-making.
  • Coach, mentor, and develop the accounting team while ensuring performance expectations are met and priorities are effectively managed.
  • Identify and implement process improvements, automation initiatives, and system enhancements to increase efficiency and strengthen financial controls.

Compensation

  • Lead the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with applicable accounting standards (NCECF).

Company info

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA or CMA designation is considered an asset).
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience, including supervisory or people management responsibilities.
  • Strong knowledge of IFRS and/or NCECF, financial reporting standards, and internal control frameworks.
  • Proven experience managing month-end close processes and financial reporting cycles.
  • Manufacturing industry experience is considered an asset.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with ERP systems such as Microsoft Dynamics 365, Maximo, Dayforce, or equivalent.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills with internal and external stakeholders.
  • High attention to detail, strong sense of accountability, and unwavering financial integrity.
