  • In this role, you will work closely with a multidisciplinary team of human factors specialists, user experience experts, designers, and engineers to identify End User needs and define ergonomic problem spaces.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with engineers, designers, and development teams to define user requirements and design solutions
  • Apply human factors principles and standards to support product development decisions
  • Communicate findings, recommendations, and design considerations through written reports and presentations
  • Advocate for End User needs throughout the design lifecycle
  • Support iterative design improvements based on testing, feedback, and operational requirements
  • Understanding of user-centred design principles, usability testing, and ergonomic assessment methods.
  • Ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and communicate findings through written reports and presentations.
  • Ability to support research, testing, and design evaluations to improve End User experience and usability.
  • Exposure to creating ergonomic or human factors artefacts, mockups, or design recommendations.
  • You'll apply advanced thinking, design expertise, and practical problem-solving to help equip military and allied forces with leading-edge systems.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Kinesiology, Ergonomics, Human Factors Engineering, Industrial Design, Biomechanics, Systems Design, or a related discipline with coursework in human factors or ergonomics.
  • 2-5 years of experience in Ergonomics, Human Factors, Industrial Design, or Human Systems.
  • Experience supporting ergonomic or human factors activities related to hardware, vehicles, facilities, or operational environments.
  • Familiarity with anthropometric analysis and ergonomic evaluations.
  • Experience using human modelling or simulation tools such as Siemens Process Simulate Human, JACK, or similar software is considered an asset.
  • Willingness to travel as required.
  • Familiarity with military (MIL-STD 1472, DEF-STAN-0251 and DEF-STAN 00-23-09), ANSI, OSHA, or ISO ergonomic and human factors standards.
  • Experience supporting usability studies, workshops, interviews, or research activities.

Compensation

  • The expected Salary range for this position is $80,000 - $95,000 CAD Annual.
