About the role

  • This position will work for the Facilities Unit for University Housing.
  • This unit oversees the upkeep of 1.2 million square feet of residential and retail space.
  • The areas are comprised of Maintenance (which takes mechanical infrastructure, electronics, paint, and elevators) and Custodial which keeps our buildings clean and in tip top condition.

Responsibilities

  • Assists trades, crafts, vendors, and technical staff with construction, design, and operational maintenance as needed
  • Utilizes specialized equipment to repair and maintain complex machinery, equipment, and facility property to prevent further damage and ensure optimal operation
  • Troubleshoots, escalates, and documents issues according to established policies and procedures
  • Performs routine and non-routine facility inspections and monitors cleanliness
  • The Facilities Technician III inspects, maintains, and repairs specialized equipment and facilities to ensure property meets established standards and to prevent further damage.
  • They assist with construction, design, and operational maintenance.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 1 year of general maintenance experience

Nice to have

  • 3 or more years of facility maintenance experience
  • Previous on-call experience
  • Previous experience in a 24/7/365 operation
  • Industrial, technical, or HVAC-related degrees or certifications
