About the role

  • The Property Controller is responsible for the local accounting and audit function in accordance with company and State procedures and principles of internal control.
  • Recruit, supervise, train, schedule, discipline, review, and direct local accounting personnel in prescribed record keeping activities.
  • Direct the preparation and timely submission of accounting data to the Corporate Office and State following prescribed procedures and formats.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop the accounting team, providing guidance, training, and support.
  • Collaborate with state agencies, auditors, and management company representatives on audits, reporting, and compliance initiatives.
  • Support operational leaders by providing accounting expertise and recommendations for process improvements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or related degree.
  • Computer proficiency with the ability to utilize MS Word, Excel, and Outlook required.
  • detail oriented with ability to effectively organize and coordinate multiple priorities
  • ability to problem solve.
  • Ability to sit at a desk in front of a computer for long periods of time.
  • Ability to work occasional weekends and holidays.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft applications.

Nice to have

  • Ability to learn and become proficient with various accounting software
  • Sage Intacct experience a plus.
  • Prior experience as a controller preferred.
  • Controller experience preferred.

Skills

  • Excellent interpersonal, administrative, telephone and other communications skills.

Compensation

  • 85,000.00 USD Annual
  • Partner with department managers on annual budgets and monthly financial analysis.
