About the role

  • The Medical Director of Clinical Education, in a collaborative leadership role known as a dyad with the Director of Clinical Education, leads the Clinical Education department at SCHS consistent with the principles described below.

Responsibilities

  • Serves as a system support for Three Sisters Family Medicine Residency based in Madras, including participation in SCHS-OHSU meetings related to sponsorship.
  • Supports principles of continuous improvement with energy and enthusiasm, functioning as a champion of change, to achieve the purpose and objectives noted above.
  • Provides and maintains a physically and psychologically safe environment for caregivers, patients and guests and is trained and practices Culture of Excellence-based leadership.

Requirements

  • Continually (75% or more): Use of clear and audible speaking voice and the ability to hear normal speech level.
  • Never (0%): Climbing ladder/stepstool, lifting/carrying/pushing or pulling 25-50 pounds, ability to hear whispered speech level.
  • May perform additional duties of similar complexity within the organization, as required or assigned

Nice to have

  • Current board certification in specialty.
  • Additional postgraduate training or experience in UGME/GME.
  • Preferred: Additional postgraduate training or experience in UGME/GME.

  • Provides physician oversight of and direction for essential physician and provider student, resident, and continuing education programs.

  • Designs and delivers education that directly supports clinical practice improvements, patient safety initiatives, and accreditation standards.
