About the role

  • The Patient Care Assistant (PCA) plays a vital role in delivering high‑quality, patient‑facing services throughout each patient visit.
  • PCAs work both at the front desk/lobby and within the health center, ensuring compassionate, professional, and efficient care at every touchpoint.
  • This role requires attention to detail, strong judgment, effective communication, and a commitment to patient confidentiality and dignity.

Responsibilities

  • PCAs serve as a welcoming first point of contact for patients and provide essential clinical and administrative support under the supervision and delegation of licensed clinical staff.
  • Process refill requests and contraceptive supply sales; manage cash handling.
  • Support team members and assist with resolving patient concerns.

Requirements

  • Comfort working with diverse patient populations.
  • Proficiency with computers, including Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to lift up to 30 lbs and remain active throughout most of the shift.
  • medical assistant training preferred.
  • Customer service or healthcare experience strongly preferred.

  • Your Day to Day:
  • Greet and assist patients as the first point of contact.
  • Check patients in/out, schedule appointments, verify insurance, and assist walk‑ins.
