About the role

- Work Shift (Hours / Days of work) 9:30 am -6:00 pm Mon-Thur; 8:00 am -4:30 pm Friday.
Responsibilities
- Manage the daily operations of the Writing Area.
- Work as a team to manage the daily operations of the Academic Success Center
- Perform other duties as assigned to ensure the smooth functioning of the department and maintain the reputation of the organization as a viable business partner.
Requirements
- Associate or higher degree in Language Arts or a closely related field such as American Sign Language (ASL), English as a Second Language (ESOL), or Speech and Communication Studies
- One (1) academic year of teaching/tutoring experience in Language Arts at the high school level or above
- Bachelor degree in English or a closely related field.
- Ability to communicate effectively with faculty members, counselors, administrators and related personnel regarding student needs, department needs and other concerns.
- Ability to apply knowledge of college policies and procedure to assist students
- Current and / or former employees must be in good standing at Minneapolis College for consideration.

Compensation
- $22.27 - $31.12 per hour/ $46,499.76 - $64,979 annually
- Minimum Qualifications
- Associate or higher degree in Language Arts or a closely related field such as American Sign Language (ASL), English as a Second Language (ESOL), or Speech and Communication Studies
- One (1) academic year of teaching/tutoring experience in Language Arts at the high school level or above
- Preferred Qualification
- Bachelor degree in English or a closely related field.
