- Trimble is seeking a collaborative Mechanical Engineer to support our engineering teams in the Civil Construction space, enabling Trimble Earthworks and other cutting-edge products to integrate seamlessly with heavy machinery.

- Document complex mechanical systems through 3D solid models, detailed assembly layouts, and comprehensive bill of materials.
- Perform hands-on design verification, FEA simulation optimization, and mechanical qualification testing for new product introduction.
- Execute and document on-machine tests, troubleshooting complex control systems directly on various construction machines.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree, diploma, or equivalent practical experience in mechanical or civil engineering.
- Demonstrable professional engineering experience with strong proficiency in 3D CAD modeling software.

- Key Exciting Responsibilities • Document complex mechanical systems through 3D solid models, detailed assembly layouts, and comprehensive bill of materials. • Perform hands-on design verification, FEA simulation optimization, and mechanical qualification testing for new product introduction. • Execute and document on-machine tests, troubleshooting complex control systems directly on various construction machines. • Conduct machine set-ups and tear-downs for prototype evaluations, proof of concept testing, and field demonstrations. • Collaborate with cross-functional support and sales teams to define regional product needs and drive corrective action plans.
- Essential Skills & Experience • Bachelor's degree, diploma, or equivalent practical experience in mechanical or civil engineering. • Demonstrable professional engineering experience with strong proficiency in 3D CAD modeling software. • Working knowledge of common communication protocols, including CAN, Ethernet, Wi-Fi, and Serial. • Strong written and verbal communication skills to interact effectively across a global engineering network. • Practical dexterity and fitness required to work safely in a hands-on machine testing environment.
- Bonus Points For: • Hands-on experience operating heavy construction machinery or working with hydraulic systems. • Background in sheet metal design, cable assembly design, or basic control and position system theory. • Current construction safety certification.
