About the role
- NAVOCEANO is located at NASA's Stennis Space Center, and the work is performed on-site.
- The admin will be responsible for the proper function of operating systems and software hosted on government networks, both physical and virtual.
- This includes site surveys, device installations, cabling, and troubleshooting with end users.
Responsibilities
- Basic provisioning of network change requests (NCR) to support computer system moves within the LAN. Troubleshooting connection issues
- The Network Systems Administrator will advance the capabilities of the Naval Oceanographic Office (NAVOCEANO) by providing maintenance and service support for operational systems.
Requirements
- Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) certification or ability to acquire it within 60 days of hire.
Nice to have
- Experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux, including Smart Management and Satellite
- Familiarity with DISA STIG checklists
- Experience with VMWare products (VSphere, ESXi) for system administration
- Experience working in disconnected or high-latency environments
- Security+ CE or comparable certification
- Documentation skills with Microsoft Office suite and Adobe products
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
