About the role
- The Oregon State Hospital (OSH), a division of the Oregon Health Authority, is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Primary Care Physician to join our multidisciplinary team.
- This position provides non-psychiatric medical evaluation and treatment for adults with severe mental illness in an inpatient forensic psychiatric setting.
- This position serves as a medical consultant to the interdisciplinary treatment team, addressing acute and chronic medical conditions, supporting coordinated care, and contributing to integrated, whole-person treatment planning.
Responsibilities
- This position works in collaboration with psychiatric attending providers, who maintain primary responsibility for the overall plan of care.
Requirements

- Experience working effectively in a high-acuity, unpredictable environment, while remaining calm and organized, and creating clarity and continuity of care.
- Experience providing general medicine phone consultations to physicians and staff.
- Experience representing a clinical role in public-facing and organizational settings, including participation on committees, workgroups, or cross-functional initiatives within a public or institutional environment.
