About the role
- AVD Mount Systems DRE
- The AVD Mount Systems DRE serves as a Design Release Engineer during the Advanced Vehicle Development (AVD) phase for passenger vehicles and light trucks.
- This role is responsible for developing mounting systems for applications, including engine, transmission, electric drive unit, compressor, body, and cradle mounts, as applicable.
Responsibilities
- Perform competitive benchmarking of performance, cost, mass, etc.
- Daily collaboration with other Chassis Engineers as well as other key areas of the organization (Designer, CAE, Design Studio, Vehicle Architecture, Purchasing, Cost Estimating, Performance Integration, Manufacturing, Service Engineering, other commodities such as Body, Powertrain, Electrical, etc.) to creatively and jointly develop the overall optimal solution for the vehicle.
- Lead DFSS or other projects to refine customer requirements and design robustness.
- Lead Subsystem DFMEA
- Collaboration with the downstream Design Release Engineer to allow them to successfully source and validate the components and systems for production.
- Collaboration with CAE engineers to assess system performance to requirements, and iterate to an optimum design.

Requirements
- Bachelors degree in Engineering (or extensive equivalent experience).
- Minimum 3 years experience in mount system product engineering and/or analysis.
- Ability to work in TeamCenter.
- Ability to work well with others to resolve issues, and elevate issues when appropriate.
- 5+ years experience in mount system product engineering
- Knowledge of mount industry trends and new technology
- Masters degree in Engineering.
- Development and refinement of the solution imperatives (pc cost, tooling, mass, quality, performance, etc.) of the designs, reporting out to leadership as required.
