Responsibilities
- Information Technology (Technology Support)
- The Computer Services Specialist installs, repairs, and maintains computer hardware, peripherals, and software throughout the college and provides support to other computer services specialists.
- Installs, repairs and performs maintenance of computer hardware, peripherals and software.
- Performs wiring installation and moves/setups, as assigned.
- Develops working solutions to computer problems and carries out work orders and assigned tasks.
- Performs projects and tasks assigned by the IT Operations Manager and/or the Computer Services Analysts.
- Installs and maintains specialized departmental software.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Ability to work evenings and/or weekends as needed; ability to travel throughout the college district using own means of reliable transportation.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Requirements
- Ability to receive detailed information through oral communication and to make the discrimination in sound.
- Occurs to a considerable degree and requires substantial use of upper extremities and back muscles.
- Ability to make rational decisions through sound logic and deductive processes.
- Expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word including the ability to convey detailed or important spoken instructions to other workers accurately and concisely.
- Must be available for on-call duty on a 24x7 basis as requested by management.
- Associate's Degree in Computer Information Systems, Networking, Computer Science, or related field required.
- Must have or qualify for a valid Texas driver's license and proof of liability insurance.
