Responsibilities
- Implements and monitors productivity improvements such as cycle time improvements and cost cutting measures.
- Develops, evaluates, and improves manufacturing operations, to include but not limited to fixturing, tooling and methods.
- Develops new processes and implements new equipment. Performs new equipment qualification and validation.
- Identifies deficiencies & implements Lean Sigma principles in all aspects of the manufacturing environment.
- Manages processes to assure continuous improvements takes place for cost reductions and quality improvements as jobs are run through the plant
- Develop, setup, and implementation of new machine documentation to achieve the organizational performance, production and financial objectives
- Collaborates with planning, quality, purchasing, assembly and design staff concerning product design quality planning, and fixturing to ensure efficient production methods
- Collaborates with management, engineering, and other staff regarding manufacturing capabilities and other considerations to facilitate production processes
- Maintains positive working relationships with manufacturing personnel and other staff members in order to support a positive workplace environment
- Develops, evaluates, improves set up methods and reduces set up times
Requirements
- Experience with multi-axis CNC machining
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
- Ability to read blueprints and interpret drawings and dimensions, and help with the development of Inspection Planning Sheets (IPS)
- Excellent problem solving skills and ability to work collaboratively across teams.
- Knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing)
- Possess a working knowledge of machining, materials, quality programs, safety programs and managing resources.
- Knowledge of writing & editing programs for all types of CNC machines
Nice to have
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, manufacturing engineering, or related field preferred
- Experience with implementation of continuous improvement initiatives is preferred
- Six Sigma or Lean Manufacturing certification preferred
