About the role

  • The successful candidate will play a critical role in performing complex microbiological tests and procedures to detect, identify, and analyze microorganisms in a fast-paced laboratory environment.
  • Schedule Days/hours are on an as-needed basis and will involve providing coverage for weekends, employee absences, vacations, and periods of increased workload.
  • Typical shifts are 8.5 hours long with a 30 minute unpaid meal break.

Responsibilities

  • Perform complex microbiological testing to detect, identify, and analyze microorganisms
  • Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory equipment and instrumentation
  • Provide technical guidance and support to laboratory staff and trainees as needed
  • Maintain a safe work environment and wear appropriate personal protective equipment

Requirements

  • Must be authorized to work in the United States
  • Ability to sit and/or stand for extended periods of time
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds

Nice to have

  • Minimum of 3 years' experience performing high-complexity testing (Microbiology experience preferred)
