About the role

  • CR's consumer product and service testing center, in Yonkers, New York, is the largest nonprofit educational and consumer product testing center in the world.
  • It is here where, in any one of our 63 labs, we test, rate, and review 10,000+ products and services.
  • As a Mechanic on the team, you will report to the Director of Facilities to focus on routine maintenance, responding to occasional off-hour emergency calls and ensuring safety regulations are met and all equipment is in good working order.

  • Repairing equipment, machinery, and building

Requirements

  • You have the degree.
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • You have the experience.
  • A minimum of 5-years experience in maintenance or a similar role.
  • You are a subject matter expert.
  • You have knowledge of buildings, machinery, and equipment.
  • You are a jack-of-all-trades.
  • You have basic carpentry, painting, plumbing and electrical skills.
  • You are self-motivated and a problem solver.
  • You are certified in a trade or equivalent field.

Compensation

  • At Consumer Reports, we are committed to fair, transparent pay and we strive to provide competitive, market-informed compensation.The target salary range for this position is $69,074.30 - $71,645.04 It is anticipated that most qualified candidates will fall near the middle of this range.
