About the role

  • Psychiatrist Adult & Teen Challenge of Arkansas is seeking a licensed and compassionate Psychiatrist to provide part-time psychiatric care to our clients within a faith-based recovery program.
  • The position requires availability on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays, with potential for additional weekday hours as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Prescribe and manage psychiatric medications in compliance with federal and state regulations.
  • Maintain current knowledge of best practices in psychiatric and addiction medicine.
  • Uses the Master Treatment Plan to develop activities to use with clients approved for OBHS services.
  • This role involves conducting psychiatric evaluations, managing medication regimens, and collaborating with the multidisciplinary team to support the mental, emotional, and spiritual well-being of our clients.

Requirements

  • DEA registration and ability to prescribe controlled substances.
  • Must have and maintain a valid state ID- to navigate and use the company EHR.
  • Must be able to pass drug and nicotine test
  • Hold/Receive required certifications within the predetermined time limits established by the State of Arkansas.
  • Provides timely documentation to support services rendered and provides written reports as required by other agencies (i.e. DCFS, legal system, etc.).
  • Attends all required clinic meetings.
  • Medical Degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution.
  • Board Certification or Board Eligibility in Psychiatry.

  • Communicate compassionately and effectively with clients, health care professionals, and the public.
  • Effective documentation skills
  • Demonstrates sound diagnostic judgment and clinical decision-making in psychiatric care.
  • Proficient in prescribing and managing psychotropic medications.
  • Understands the complexities of substance use disorders and co-occurring mental health conditions.
  • Willing to incorporate spiritual considerations into treatment when appropriate.
