About the role
- We dream big, as well, with an aggressive five-year plan to expand to serve 3,500 students across seven schools -growing our organization's impact and leveling the playing field for all children.
- Commitment - Start date: August 25, 2026 - End date: November 30, 2026 - Days & hours: Monday-Thursday, 3:00-6:15pm when after school is in session - Dates and hours are subject to change.
- The rate for incoming Club Coaches who are also DREAM full-time staff is a $3000 per season stipend.
Responsibilities
- Lead a group of up to 18-20 youth in daily after-school sports practices and occasional scrimmages
- Facilitate or co-facilitate lessons to help youth build their social and emotional skills
- Support Program leadership and other Club Coaches with coordinating scrimmages
- Model and encourage positive participation in all activities, with a focus on team building
- Supervise and manage youth during all activities using positive youth development strategies

Requirements
- Experience teaching youth foundational physical activity and athletic skills;
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with various stakeholders in a fast-paced environment;
- High-performing part-time staff have the opportunity to apply for the DREAM Teaching Fellowship, through which they can earn a Bachelors or Masters degree and become full-time teachers at DREAM.
- Strong facilitation skills of athletics or recreational programming with youth in grades 6-8
- Exhibits high energy, warmth, enthusiasm and patience in working with youth
- Demonstrated interest in assisting students develop motor skills through athletics
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent time-management skills: a self-starter who demonstrates initiative and follow-through
- A strong belief in the mission and values of DREAM, including the belief that all students can succeed, and a deep desire to make a difference in the lives of our students, families, and community.

Nice to have
- NSCA-CPT certification preferred;
- Working towards a Bachelors of Science in Recreation or Recreational Sports Management, preferred;
Skills

- Experience with behavior management systems, including positive youth development, preferred
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team setting;

- Compensation
Compensation
- The rate for incoming Club Coaches is $30 per hour.
- Coaches are eligible for annual compensation increases based on tenure, in accordance with DREAM's compensation practices.
