About the role

Responsibilities
- Manages core components of sponsorship that ensures the moral, financial, and legal responsibilities in relation to refugee sponsorship are carried out.
- Oversees the provision of basic financial support and care for the sponsored refugee(s) for the duration of the sponsorship period, or until the sponsored person becomes self-sufficient (whichever comes first).
- Stewards, cultivates, and maintains relationships with cosponsors and Constituent Group members and donors in partnership with the Director of Strategic Engagement and Partnerships
- Provides organizational assistance, advice, information, and support to Cosponsors and Constituent Groups, including through electronic and in-person information and training.
- Oversees and advises and supports Constituent Group(s).
- Creates awareness of anti-oppressive/social justice issues.
- Work close and create excellent relationship and ask for advice if needed from Refugee Sponsorship Training Program RSTP and SAH Navigation Unite SNU

Requirements
- Experience in working and advocating for refugees and immigrant populations
- Excellent knowledge of settlement procedure and organization in BC
- Ability to set clear yet friendly professional boundaries
- Ability to communicate in English
- Current and satisfactory Criminal Record Check required
- For in-office days, the successful candidate must be able to commute to our 5575 Boundary Road, Vancouver Office location.
- Before applying, you must be legally permitted to work in Canada through citizenship or permanent resident status.
- Therefore, until further notice, employees are no longer required to provide a proof of vaccination.
- Undergraduate degree in a related discipline (refugee and/or forced migration studies, intercultural studies, social studies, social work, business administration, area studies) or a combination of education, training and/or experience may be considered
- Excellent ability to connect settlement and financial resources to support refugee applications
- Clear understanding of confidentiality and privacy of client information
- Empathetic, respectful and discrete
- remains tactful and patient during stressful situations
- Highly organized and strong attention to detail
- Strong time-management, multi-tasking, and problem-solving abilities
- Excellent business judgment, analytical, and decision-making skills.
- Work independently with limited direct supervision.
- Excellent organizational and project management skills.
Compensation
- $69,360 - $78,605 annual salary
- Today the organization engages and serves over 26,000 clients per year at 47 service and community locations in Greater Vancouver through a wide range of high-quality settlement and integration programs including services geared towards youth and family, interpretation and translation, language and workplace training, counselling, and employment.
