About the role

  • Independent judgment, technical skills, and commitment to patient safety are considered requisite professional characteristics for individuals assuming the position of a MRI technologist.
  • Assists in the maintenance of department inventory by ordering, stocking, and performing inventory checks on those medical supplies utilized when performing general radiographic examinations. (30%)
  • Effectively interacts with Denver Health's PACS system through compliance with data entry, image post-processing, image archiving tasks, image quality assurance, and other related user interface activities. (10%)

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrable interpersonal skill sets that lead to effective communication and collaborations.
  • Attain and maintain competence in performing high-quality cardiac MRI done independently, including but not limited to Cardiac MRI obtained for infarction, valve disease, and structural abnormalities.

Requirements

  • Associate's Degree Required
  • 1-3 years of professional work experience in performing radiographic procedures, including 2 years of experience in undertaking MRI imaging studies.
  • American Heart Association Required and
  • American Registry of Radiologic Technologists Required
  • MRI technologists must be certified in CPR at all times in order to safely mediate contrast reactions. (10%)

Skills

  • Demonstrated knowledge in how to operate MRI equipment and related technology.
  • Knowledge of how to address age-specific care needs of patients.
  • Demonstrated technical skill sets in the performance of MRI studies.
  • Competency in interpreting physician order requests for MRI imaging studies.
  • Ability to exercise prudent judgment in selecting and configuring equipment settings to compensate for patient physiologic variances.
  • Ability to consistently produce quality images of various anatomical structures.
