About the role
- Independent judgment, technical skills, and commitment to patient safety are considered requisite professional characteristics for individuals assuming the position of a MRI technologist.
- Assists in the maintenance of department inventory by ordering, stocking, and performing inventory checks on those medical supplies utilized when performing general radiographic examinations. (30%)
- Effectively interacts with Denver Health's PACS system through compliance with data entry, image post-processing, image archiving tasks, image quality assurance, and other related user interface activities. (10%)
Responsibilities
- Demonstrable interpersonal skill sets that lead to effective communication and collaborations.
- Attain and maintain competence in performing high-quality cardiac MRI done independently, including but not limited to Cardiac MRI obtained for infarction, valve disease, and structural abnormalities.
Requirements
- Associate's Degree Required
- 1-3 years of professional work experience in performing radiographic procedures, including 2 years of experience in undertaking MRI imaging studies.
- American Heart Association Required and
- American Registry of Radiologic Technologists Required
- MRI technologists must be certified in CPR at all times in order to safely mediate contrast reactions. (10%)
Skills
- Demonstrated knowledge in how to operate MRI equipment and related technology.
- Knowledge of how to address age-specific care needs of patients.
- Demonstrated technical skill sets in the performance of MRI studies.
- Competency in interpreting physician order requests for MRI imaging studies.
- Ability to exercise prudent judgment in selecting and configuring equipment settings to compensate for patient physiologic variances.
- Ability to consistently produce quality images of various anatomical structures.
