About the role
- This role will position you as a key contributor of Reach's radio frequency engineering team.
- As an engineer in a small company, you will have a great deal of agency over your work, plenty of opportunity to discover and solve new challenges, and the ability to make large-impact decisions.
Responsibilities
- You will contribute to design, simulation and implementation of power amplifiers and other components and subsystems at microwave frequencies.
- Contribute to the design, simulation and implementation of distributed-element components.
- Design and implement high efficiency power amplifiers at high frequency from 5GHz to 24GHz.
- Drive the investigation, study, and introduction of new components and subsystems.
- Collaborate with PM/Mechanical/RF/EE teams for system level design, integration and testing.
- Collaborate with other engineers to perform system bring up, troubleshooting and system test.
- Product design documentation using Reach PLM system.
- Support certification and regulatory testing. Support field testing.

Requirements
- 10+ years of experience as a microwave engineer or equivalent.
- Ability to work cross‐functionally.
- Ability to communicate effectively complex concepts.
- Experience with designing high efficiency PAs and/or RF rectifiers
- Hands-on experience with bring up and troubleshooting of high-power microwave chains and beam forming steering systems.
- Experience with python and/or MatLab.
- Experience with design for manufacturability.
- Expert with EM simulation software (HFSS and HFSS SBR+), CST, and circuit simulation tools, such as Keysight ADS.
- Hands on experience using spectrum analyzer, VNA, signal generator, oscilloscope, and logic analyzer.
- Fluent with PCB layout techniques for distributed-element components implementation.
- Experience is developing hardware and testing for some or all of the following: Bluetooth, BLE, Wi-Fi, RF to DC power conversion.
- Hands on experience debugging in the lab. Defining a test process and executing it with minimal supervision.
- In-depth understanding of safety EMI and EMC compliance and certification.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Results- and deadline- driven.
- Able to work independently with little direction and drive others.
- Takes great pride and ownership in developing products.
Nice to have
- MS degree in electrical or RF engineering (PhD preferred).
