About the role
- Define and evolve an AEO / AEO strategy focused on entity authority, structured content, use-case clarity, and off-site citations optimized for LLM citation and summarization.
- Establish standards for technical SEO, structured data, internal linking, and content templates that scale across modules and solutions.
- Act as the primary owner of the website roadmap, balancing strategic initiatives with ongoing production needs.
Responsibilities
- Own Harness's organic discoverability strategy across traditional search engines and AI-driven answer engines (e.g. Google AIO, ChatGPT, Perplexity, Claude).
- Partner with Product Marketing and Content to ensure product positioning, narratives, and use cases are reflected in search- and AI-readable site architecture.
- Own performance measurement across classic SEO metrics and indicators of AI discoverability (citations, visibility, zero-click exposure).
- Manage and direct external SEO / AEO agencies or vendors, setting strategy, reviewing output, and holding them accountable to performance outcomes.
- Own the end-to-end web strategy for Harness.com, aligning site architecture, content, and UX with business goals (pipeline, product adoption, brand).
- Partner with demand gen on landing pages and campaign experiences.

Requirements
- 6+ years of experience in SEO in a B2B SaaS or tech environment.
- Experience owning web and organic growth strategy through influence, prioritization, and vendor management, not just hands-on execution.
- Proven experience owning and operating a high-traffic, high-impact website.
- Strong hands-on SEO expertise (technical, on-page, and content)
- Strong understanding of B2B buyer journeys and how websites support demand generation.

- Experience in DevOps, cloud, or developer-focused products
- Familiarity with marketing automation, personalization, or experimentation tools
- Experience partnering with global teams and supporting international sites
- Basic HTML/CSS knowledge or comfort working closely with developers
