Responsibilities
- As a member of the Advanced Materials team a successful candidate will support material, component and system development activities for hypersonic and other flight vehicle systems.
- Perform thermostructural analysis of flight vehicles
- Perform survivability analysis and establish operational bounds
- Design important components and subsystems that enable vehicle performance
Requirements
- 10+ years of relevant experience
- BS in Mechanical Engineering or related technical field (equivalent experience may be accepted)
- Secret DoD Clearance or the ability to obtain a Secret DoD Clearance
- Experience supporting research and development activities
- Demonstrated experience performing finite element analysis (FEA) to analyze systems with coupled thermal and structural boundary conditions
- Demonstrated experience performing both static and dynamic analysis of components or systems under representative operational conditions
- Strong communication skills - both verbal and written - with demonstrated experience in a technical environment
- An advanced degree (MS or PhD) in Engineering or related technical field (equivalent experience may be accepted)
- Demonstrated experience performing coupled physics modeling and simulation on thermal protection systems (TPS)
