Responsibilities
- Monitor and support university travelers while abroad, providing updates, guidance, and assistance during emergencies or changing conditions
- Support the review of international travel proposals and ongoing assessment of international programs
- Assist with supervision of student employees and provide administrative support to the Global Security Advisor
- This position supports the Global Security Advisor by helping prepare, educate, and assist students, faculty, and staff participating in university-sponsored international travel.
Requirements
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present complex information clearly
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and the ability to learn new technology platforms
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment

Nice to have
- Two or more years of international living, working, or travel experience
- Knowledge of world geography, international affairs, and global cultures
- Experience with international programs, travel risk management, or incident response
- Familiarity with BYU international programs
- Experience using web-based intelligence or travel security platforms
- Strong customer service and intercultural communication skills
Compensation
- $23k-$29k
Benefits
- Additionally, if you contribute 5%, BYU adds an additional 4% (Rehires may qualify for different retirement plans)
- May be eligible for tuition benefits after two years
- The role provides guidance on global security, health, and safety, coordinates traveler support services, delivers training, and assists with incident response to promote safe and successful global experiences.
- Advise university travelers on global security, health, and safety considerations and risk mitigation strategies
- Coordinate pre-travel resources, including security information, health insurance enrollment, and travel preparation materials
- Assist with incident response by coordinating with insurance providers, medical professionals, government agencies, and other external partners
- Develop and deliver training, presentations, and educational resources on international travel safety and security
