About the role
- This is a hands-on role spanning software, systems, and reliability engineering.
- This position may be hired at Senior Engineer I or Senior Engineer II
- this will be determined during the interview process based on problem complexity, independence, technical leadership, and breadth of impact.
Responsibilities
- Prime Systems & Services builds and operates foundational Kubernetes infrastructure and shared services used across CoreWeave's cloud.
- Own Kubernetes infrastructure and services across their full lifecycle, including provisioning, upgrades, fleet-scale change, and failure recovery.
- Review technical work, document important decisions, and mentor other engineers.

Requirements
- You have 5+ years of experience in software, infrastructure, platform, SRE, DevOps, or production engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
- You have operated production Kubernetes clusters or Kubernetes-based platforms at scale.
- You have strong Linux and systems fundamentals and can troubleshoot across networking, storage, containers, and distributed services.
- You have experience with infrastructure-as-code, configuration management, or GitOps tools.
- You can independently take an ambiguous problem from discovery through implementation and sustained operation.
- Experience operating Kubernetes on bare metal or managing large fleets of clusters.
- Experience with Kubernetes controllers, operators, APIs, or platform services.
- Experience leading cross-team technical work or mentoring engineers.

Compensation
- The base salary range for this role is $182,000 to $242,000.
