About the role

Responsibilities
- Ensure all projects have well-considered designs and are completed within budget and in accordance with the approved schedule. This will require project tracking and reporting as well as workload prioritization to ensure schedules are met.
- This includes presenting internally at Commissioner-level meetings as needed and, in cases when a direct report is absent, in order to maintain project schedule.
- Work with the Commissioners, Chief and Deputy Chief of Natural Resources, Staff Scientists, Maintenance and Operations staff and other stakeholders to ensure that designs maximize ecological function and/or reduce ecological impacts while addressing Agency and community goals
- Work with Deputy Director of Construction to ensure design team is providing timely responses to construction team, that design intent is being fulfilled, and that lessons learned in the field during construction are reviewed and incorporated into active and future designs.
- Maintain quality assurance and quality control.
- Sign and seal contract documents and related applications for agencies having jurisdiction.
- May represent the Director and perform all associated tasks, including supervision of the entire team of landscape designers, as needed.
Requirements
- A valid New York State Registration as a Landscape Architect and a master's degree in landscape architecture from an accredited college or university and three (3)
